Classroom Rules Each year students get to decide together what they want their classroom rules to be. They listen to stories about following the rules, and having good manners to help them decide on rules they think are fair for everyone.
Classroom Behavior Routine This is our behavior system used in the classroom. Students start each day on "ready to work". They can earn opportunities to move up the chart by following the rules and making good choices throughout the day. When a student reaches yellow " super star" they receive a drop for their bucket. Students can also move down the chart for not making good choices. Parents are contacted if they earn a red, "time to think". Every day each student has a chance for a brand new, Great day! At the end of the week "Super Star" Yellow tickets are given out to celebrate all of our Super Stars! Help your child celebrate at home too!
Drop Day rewards- "Filling up our buckets" At the end of each week students will have a chance to turn in their drops for rewards and prizes. This is a great way for students to earn positive feedback, practice good behavior and build a team classroom environment. Some of the ways students can earn drops or "fill their buckets" is by helping others, showing responsibility, following the rules, being role models and receiving compliments from other staff and teachers on campus. Students also practice counting skills and how to "shop" for items and prizes with their drops!
All of the drops that are turned in for individual prizes are put into our class bucket. When the bucket is full we our class will choose a fun way to celebrate our hard work. Some ideas include extra recess, popsicle parties, pajama parties, popcorn parties, costume parties and so much more! Check in with your child each week to see how they are doing being bucket fillers!
